Club Welfare Officer Vacancy

VC Venta is urgently looking to appoint a volunteer to act as the Club Welfare Officer, following the resignation of the previous officer.

As a British Cycling (BC) Go-Ride Club it is a requirement that we have a club welfare officer. The welfare officer is somebody who can be visible at Go-Ride events and CX coaching sessions, or activities involving young people as well as the events that we organise, as this is predominantly (although not solely) about child protection.

However, BC guidance is that the position should not be filled by one of the club’s coaches.

This would probably suit somebody who is already working in education, health care, police, social work etc. who will already have a good understanding of safeguarding.

If you think you might be able to help please contact Club Secretary, Sean Locke, on info@vcventa.co.uk or Head Coach, Toby Leyland, or go-ride@vcventa.co.uk.
