February started off much as January had ended, with only a small number of efforts being made over the designated segment. No doubt the poor weather and low temperatures made this segment an unattractive prospect.

Spring is nearly with us as March brings the first dedicated TT stage of this year’s Segment of The Month competition. TT bikes are specifically permitted for this stage, so dig out your skin suits, aero helmets and shoe covers ready to set your best pace.

For many riders lockdown and winter gloom has seen them trade their mudguards in for a subscription to Zwift instead.

February’s segment of the month comprises of just about 1.8 miles of fast and modest-gradient climbing with a sting in the tail, from a short incline and progressing to an 8% gradient.

This will be a really fast-run segment, best suited to the Rouleurs and Puncheurs in our club. Good luck!
