Winchester’s Cycling Club
Velo Club Venta (VCV) is the Winchester based cycling club for cyclists seeking an active club-riding and racing scene. We pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere and all-inclusive policy, providing opportunity for all ages and disciplines. The club includes many experienced cyclists who can offer advice and guidance on every aspect of the sport.
Events & Rides
We take part and organise events across most aspects of cycling, all year round. The club is affiliated with all the major racing organisations to cater for those wanting to race, with time trials, road races and cyclo-cross. We are also actively engaged in supporting many other local cycling events.
The club runs regular club/training rides catering for a range of abilities, on a Tuesday night and Sunday morning. You can also find out more about us on our Facebook page.
Young Riders
The Club welcomes youth riders participating on our club and training rides as long as membership and parental consent is in place beforehand. U16s will need to be in the company of a parent or guardian when joining the Tuesday night ride unless prior approval has been given by the club head coach by riding a youth specific chain gang. Youth riders U16 are welcome to join the Sunday club rides but should bear in mind the required average pace and duration of the ride and be comfortable in achieving these before participating.
Anyone participating on a Club ride or in a Club organised racing event (road or off-road) is required to wear a helmet.
