Becoming a Member

At VC Venta we’re a friendly bunch and welcome new members seeking an active club-riding and racing scene. Our members come from Winchester and the surrounding area, and we pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere and all-inclusive policy. The club includes many experienced cyclists who can offer advice and guidance on every aspect of the sport.

Before joining, we invite you to come along to one of our rides or training sessions as a guest, so you can try-before-you-buy!

Expectations of Members

VC Venta is run by Club members on a voluntary basis and the more people that are involved, the lighter the load.

With the exception of members under 18 years, you’ll be expected to “do your bit”, helping out with the various events we run during the year or volunteering on the Club committee. This might be marshalling at a race or time trial, leading Club Rides, coaching or helping organise a social event.

Whether you’re new to the Club or have been a member for years, you will be required to help and training will be provided, as required.

Membership Benefit

Your annual membership fee goes towards promoting cycling in Winchester and running the coaching, training, rides, races and events throughout the year. Importantly, this include the junior’s Go-Ride programme which has been particularly successful in recent years.

The club now has over 180 junior members and we are continuing to expand the youth rides and coaching.

Welcoming Female Members to the Club

The youth programme is not the only area of growth for VC Venta. In 2018, the Club started running fortnightly Women’s Rides and we have seen our female membership grow dramatically since then. We’d like to see even more women join us and come along to the Women’s and Club Rides.

Couples living at the same address can take advantage of our discounted membership, for just £40 for the year.
