All good things come to an end, and so it is we close this year’s Strava segment of the month competition. Particpation was down for October, perhaps in part due to the inevitability of the year end results, as a consequence of unassailable leads by the table topping riders in each of our three competition categories.

In the women’s open category competition, a dominant Isla Hoult was the lone rider to set a time, registering a remarkable clean-sweep of 10 consecutive monthly wins, with a solid time of 2:02.

In the men’s open category competition, a new name entered the table in first place, with Albert Buckingham-Ellison taking top spot with a very fast time of 01:44. The consistent performer James Crook took second spot with a time of 01:51 and Daniele Pirrone scored his first point of the year, taking third place with a time of 02:03.

In the men’s senior category competition, Jim Cascarini was back on top with a time of 01:50. Close on Jim’s heels in second position, Alastair Mucklow took second place with a time of 01:54. Jamie MacPherson claimed another third place with a time of 02:02.

In the women’s open category GC, the final placings are confirmed, with a resounding clean sweep maximum points win for Isla Hoult, on 165 points. Annie Dixey takes second place on 78 points, with Vanda Kyselicova rounding off the women’s podium in third place with 52 points.

In the men’s open category GC, Matt Gilmour takes this year’s GC win with a tally of 132 points. James Crook has leapfrogged into a well-earned second place finish, on 86 points. Bobby Buenfeld closes out the men’s GC podium in third place, on 74 points.

In the men’s senior category GC, Jim Cascarini finishes in first place on 132 points. Jamie MacPherson claims second place on 112 points, and Alastair Mucklow has climbed into the final podium position, leapfrogging Martin Evans into third place, with a tally of 99 points.
